About This Program

The In-Person Quran School at Al-Bushra Islamic Foundation is a structured and engaging program designed to help students build a strong, lasting connection with the Quran in a supportive and faith-centered environment. Each class runs for approximately 90 minutes and combines Quran learning with Islamic studies. The program is supervised by Sheikh Omar Al Bastami and delivered by a team of dedicated and qualified teachers, many of whom are huffadh of the Quran. Our instructors are also young and relatable, allowing them to connect with students and better understand the challenges they face in today's environment. At the beginning of each semester, students are assessed to determine their level and areas of focus. Returning students continue from where they left off, ensuring steady and consistent progress. • Beginner students focus on learning how to read the Quran, starting from letters, pronunciation, and building words. • Intermediate students develop fluency in reading directly from the Quran while being introduced to the rules of tajweed. • Advanced students focus on memorization while refining their tajweed and accuracy. All students, regardless of level, engage in memorization and regular review, with more advanced students dedicating greater time to this. After completing their individual work, students participate in a short and engaging Islamic reminder. These sessions cover topics such as tafsir, 'aqeedah, and relevant discussions that address real-life challenges and situations students encounter in school and daily life. The program is also supported by a team of passionate youth volunteers, both brothers and sisters, who assist teachers and help create a smooth, welcoming, and organized environment. These volunteers are carefully selected and trained, and they play an essential role in the success of the program. To encourage consistency and motivation, we use a reward-based system where students earn points through attendance, effort, and completing their homework. These points can be redeemed for small prizes such as snacks or saved toward larger rewards at the end of the semester. Beyond learning, our goal is to create a space where students feel a sense of belonging, where they build meaningful friendships, develop confidence, and are mentored by individuals who understand both their deen and the realities of the modern world.
